This is a prototype developed as part of the Elan luxury car M20 project in 1963. The engine is a 1.6 liter Lotus twin cam. The body design features a back bone frame supporting the engine which lowers the front cowling and gives the nose of the car its distinctive appearance.
All records of this car were lost in 1972. However, it was rediscovered in 2000 by the eminent Lotus collector and patron of the Classic Team Lotus, Malcolm Ricketts. It took several years to complete the full restoration but now the car has been returned to its full, glorious original condition.
